For over 31 years I had the privilege of sharing life with Mr. Phil Patterson and each moment I shared ALWAYS impacted me in some way. His devotion to his family, his servant leadership spirit to so many and his perseverance to engage FULLY in life ALWAYS inspired me in ways that I cannot fully express. How thankful I was to be a part of his life engagement. To have shared time with Phil was ALWAYS an opportunity to consider the goodness of God and pause to enjoy the simple truths of life and relationships. To experience life through Phil’s senses was ALWAYS fun, humorous, musical and intriguing. Especially hearing Phil sing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you or hearing one of Phil’s many stories. To observe Phil's projects, collections and talents was ALWAYS fascinating and motivating for me. His example urged me to use the unique talents God had given me and not to let the tough taskmaster of life cause me to hide my talents due to the fear of pain or disappointment. Phil Patterson will ALWAYS be an example of contented Christen living to me. Phil had learned to be content in every circumstance – with a dose of impatience at times. Like us all Phil had his shortcomings but his dependence upon faith in Jesus Christ was a bedrock as he sought to fulfill the roles, responsibilities and good works God had ordained for Phil. Jane and Christi - Thank you for ALWAYS sharing Phil and yourselves with me. I feel I am a part of your family. May the peace of God surround us. With Love and Prayers - Kirby Player P.S. Phil, I will ALWAYS keep my hands off the remote!

I am so sorry for your loss. Phil always made me laugh when we went to United Way meetings together - he was my favorite agency representative because he always got me in trouble! I think of him every time I drive by the giant oak where I was to turn to go to pick him up - Jane didn't tell him it wasn't there anymore, or so he claimed! He was an inspiration in how he dealt with being blind - never stopped him! Like taking the defensive driving course required by the drivers in his program - I'm forever thankful that the instructor vetoed his suggestion that he take the actual driving part as well! I will miss knowing that he isn't there, even though I haven't seen him in years. My prayers and many happy memories of Phil are with you tonight. Kathy Masters
